About Creative Transitions
Creative Transitions is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2018.
Our mission is to provide support for mid-career individuals who want to find or create deeply meaningful and fulfilling employment.
What does it mean to have a fulfilling career?
- You’re sustainably meeting your needs, in material and emotional ways as well as in heart and soul ways.
- You’re doing work that builds on your strengths and is in line with your deepest values.
- You’re making a meaningful positive contribution, to others, to your community, to the world.
It’s becoming clear to many that pursuing only money and status is not ultimately fulfilling. Creative Transitions was founded in direct response to the growing number of people who are feeling a strong pull to find work that is truly meaningful both for themselves and for the wider world.
For some people, fulfilling employment might mean finding ways to bring innovation, creativity and meaning into their current employment. For others it might mean finding or creating new work opportunities including starting a new organization.
Finding or creating deeply fulfilling work may not be easy. Some ask, “What could I do that would make a difference in the world?” Others have a vision yet feel hopeless about making a change.
We’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch if:
- you’re in the midst of a career transition.
- you want to share your story to give inspiration to others.
- you’re a teacher, trainer or coach who wants to explore co-sponsoring programs with Creative Transitions.
- your nonprofit has an idea for a project that fits with the mission of Creative Transitions.
- you would like to volunteer your writing, web design, social media, graphic design, or video editing expertise for a worthy cause.

Guiding Principles
Our work is grounded in and nourished by the principles inherent in a strong mindfulness practice. It is also grounded in the principles of nonviolence as embodied by Gandhi and many others around the world.
We are committed to valuing needs across racial, class, political and other divides.
Our work is not based on a particular political affiliation or affiliation with any particular group. We welcome the contributions of anyone or any group that has resonance with our mission, vision, and guiding principles. We’ll also make an honest effort to listen to and interact with those who don’t share the mission, vision, or guiding principles of this organization.
